Pius’s lead grew to 36-22 with 30 seconds left after Taubenheim’s layup. Allison Roh responded by beating the third-quarter buzzer and pulled them within 11. Roh again hit a long three with 46 seconds left to pull within seven, but Pius responded by hitting six of seven from the foul line.
Taubenheim led Pius with 12 and Lindsey Nottleman finished with 10. Regan Sankey had a game-high 13. Roh finished with 10.
Pius X will take on Millard South Friday night at 8:45. The winner advances to the state championship.
