OMAHA---Millard West had their A-3 district boys basketball semifinal game in hand, in no time.

The Wildcats utilized an 11-0 run in the first two-and-a-half minutes of their game and never looked back in their 77-53 route of Lincoln Southeast Saturday night at Millard West High School.

Monday's 7pm A-3 championship features the Wildcats taking on Omaha Creighton Prep, who barely beat fourth-seed Omaha Northwest 62-61 on Saturday afternoon.

Millard West (15-10) got a basket from Brock Burling, then Shae Wyatt hit a pair of threes and Colby Gomes added a tray to contribute to the quick start.  After a Southeast time out with 5:29 left in the first quarter, Gomes sank a free throw before the Knights got their first basket from Severyn Foster.

Another 11-0 run pushed Millard West further ahead before Isaiah Curry hit a three pointer for Southeast, with a 23-5 first quarter score.

Millard West led 42-24 at halftime, with Gomes scoring 15 of his game-high 25 points in the first half.

Southeast (10-14) put together a quick spurt in the fourth quarter, when Brayden Day nailed two free throws, then Curry scored off a steal and assist from Isaiah Laughlin.  Day scored on a layup and Curry belted a three, which cut away at the Wildcat lead 59-46.

Millard West got another big 8-0 run, which put the game away for good.

The Wildcats also got double-digit scoring from Wyatt, who finished with 16 points, and Simon Hay with 13 points.

Curry was the only Southeast player in double-figures, with 15 points.
