- GIRLS BASKETBALL: Silver Hawks Edge Bearcats, Survive Surge

Lincoln Southwest survived a second-half surge from Kearney to grab their 13th win of the season downing the Bearcats 49-43 on Friday evening at Lincoln Southwest.
The Silverhawks led by 14 at the break, but Kearney opened the third quarter on a 10-2 run. Alexis Mishou manufactured all of the 10 points during the run, which added to her game-high 22. The Bearcats outscored LSW 20-13 to climb within six entering the final frame.
The Bearcats grabbed there first lead when Mishou converted a three-point play with 3:35 left, but Jaden Ferguson responded nearly a minute later with a basket that gave Southwest a 42-41 lead with 2:19 left.
Kearney had a chance when Ferguson missed a back-end of a one-and-one, but she grabbed her own rebound with 36 second left. But Mishow had a chance with 14 ticks left to cut the lead to two, down 47-43. She missed both. Alex Barada iced the game hitting the two foul shots.
Ferguson led LSW 20 and Barada finished with 12. Mariah Rost added 13 for Kearney (8-5.)
