- BOYS BASKETBALL: Links Snap Losing Skid By Hammering Bulldogs

Lincoln High found a way to get out of a slump.
The Links overcame three straight losses (Lincoln East, Lincoln Southeast and Grand Island) by blistering North Platte 72-44 in boys basketball before 500 fans at the Earl Johnson Activities Building.
Lincoln High (5-7) led 17-8, as North Platte struggled to find any offensive flow. It led to 12 turnovers in the opening period. However, the Links' lead extended to 36-22 at halftime.
But the Bulldogs (2-9) found some offense in the third quarter when Zavion Mitchell scored six of his game-high 17 points. Still North Platte only trailed 54-40 after three quarters. Just as quick as the Bulldogs got some offense, it quickly drifted away, as Lincoln High finished the game on an 18-4 run.
Lincoln High got 16 points from Jaylin Hunter while Keyshawn Jenkins scored all 12 of his points before halftime.
Ryan Letourneau had 14 points to help North Platte.
