- GIRLS BASKETBALL: Rockets Overcome Turnovers To Stay Perfect

Lincoln Northeast and North Star combined 62 turnovers, but the Rockets leaned on their defense to win 69-45 at the Ed Johnson Gym Friday Evening.
The Rockets continue to remain unbeaten behind a duo of high performing guards. Nigeria Jones and McKenna Minter scored 18 and 21 respectively. They combined for a 7-0 run to keep the game out of reach during the end of the third quarter and start of the final period.
The Gators (0-10) cut into a 20-point deficit as Brooke Horner cashed a three and Bailey Brown added a pair of baskets to cut the lead to 51-38 with 2:57 left in the third quarter. However North Star would not score for 5:35, as Jones and Minter jump-started their 7-0 spurt.
The score climbed to 62-41 after a Drew Edward’s three, but the Navigators couldn’t get out of their own way as they continued to turn the ball over. North Star ended with 38 turnovers in the game.
Jenna Tederman led North Star with 10 points but couldn’t find the basket in the second half. Brown also aided 8 points to the final score.
