It may have taken two quarters for Lincoln High to finally get into a continuous rhythm, but the third quarter surge rallied the Links to a 55-24 victory over North Platte Friday night at Beechner Field.

The Links' offense was sparked by senior Caleb Brown, who ran for an 80-yard touchdown in the second quarter and had two receptions for touchdowns from 53 and 75 yards during the pivotal third quarter.

North Platte (1-4) led 17-14 at halftime, but Lincoln High (2-3) responded with Brown's 53-yard scoring reception.  The Bulldogs regained the lead at 24-20 with 8:06 in the third quarter, when Bryson Krull caught a 48-yard touchdown catch.

Brown's 75-yard touchdown reception put Lincoln High in the driver's seat with 7:26 in the third.  The Links scored on their next drive when sophomore quarterback Cedric Case found CJ Jones on a 72-yard scoring strike for a 34-24 lead.

Sophomore running back Frazzie Wynn ran the ball 34-yards for a touchdown with under minute remaining in the quarter, then Dijon Thomas capped a short drive off a North Platte interception with a 10-yard scoring run for a 48-24 Links advantage.  Another sophomore, John Goodwin, added a late 1-yard touchdown run to seal the win.

Lincoln High totalled 427 yards of offense, including 223 yards of passing for two touchdowns from Case, while junior Jackson Mallory got the start and went 3-of-13 for 143 yards and one touchdown.
