- Northeast, Southeast, Southwest, Norris and Waverly Make State Baseball Tournament

Lincoln will be represented well at this year's NSAA State High School Baseball Tournament.
Pairings released Wednesday show Lincoln Northeast, Lincoln Southeast and Lincoln Southwest making the Class A bracket, while Norris and Waverly in the Class B tourney. First round play in Class A starts Saturday at Sherman Field before switching the winner's bracket games to Haymarket Park on Monday. Werner Park will host the Class B tournament, with Fricke Field in Papillion hosting the loser bracket games.
Northeast is the No. 8 seed and plays No. 1 seed Millard West Saturday morning at 10am, while Southwest is a No. 3 seed and plays the No. 6 team Millard South 4pm. Lincoln Southeast comes in as the No. 4 seed and plays No. 5 seed Grand Island at 7pm. The Knights have won their previous two meetings against the Islanders and will look to go for the sweep.
In Class B, Norris is a No. 3 seed and plays No. 6 Elkhorn South in the 4pm game at Werner Park in Papillion. The night capper at 7pm will be a rematch of Tuesday night's marathon thriller with Waverly playing Elkhorn.
Saturday's coverage on LincolnPrepSports.com will feature the Northeast/Millard West game, followed by the Southeast/Grand Island game. Dick Janda
