- BASEBALL: Hot Bats Help Southwest Over North Star

Lincoln Southwest trailed 3-0 after two innings to Lincoln North Star on Tuesday evening at Sherman Field, but the Silver Hawks' bats started to heat up to hold on for a 7-3 victory.
Southwest pitcher Blaine Blomstrand had a rough start. Austin Herzog singled, Trevor Marreel reached on an error and then Brayden Cox blasted a two RBI double to center field. Then Logan Cale recorded an RBI and the Navigators led 3-0 after two innings.
Lincoln Southwest responded in the third. With Jared Jesske standing at second and no one out, Isaiah Peterson turned on a 1-0 pitch blasted a two-run homer to center. Then Tyler Burgason and doubled and Justin Mathews recorded a RBI double to tie the game.
The Southwest batters kept hitting. In the fourth, Logan Satori singled to right, then Logan Foster roped a triple that scored Satori. Peterson singled to bat in Foster. The Silverhawks would ice the game in the sixth with two more runs.
Blomstrand pitched five innings and recorded the win. North Star pitcher, Jon Opfer, only pitched 3 1/3 innings giving up seven hits and five earned runs before Cale stepped on the hill to finish the game.
