- BOYS BASKETBALL: Fremont's Quick Start Shuts Down Southeast
By Kellan Heavican
Fremont used a fast start over Lincoln Southeast in the first quarter thanks to Christian Harmon and never looked back Saturday Afternoon to earn a 68-45 win at the Prasch Activities Building.
Fremont grabbed their 19th win of the season by going up 21-8 over the Knights in the first quarter. Harmon scored nine of his 11 points in the first frame.
Southeast (11-10) was able to cut the lead to 15 twice in the third quarter after falling being 40-19 with 28 seconds left in the first half. Baskets by Noah Kulhanek with 6:45 left, and Trevor Dockum with 1:56 left gave the Knights hope.
But, the Tigers responded with baskets from Matt Hahn and K’zahn Jimerson. Hahn used his three point shooting to keep the Knights from coming back. He finished with a game-high 17. Harmon added 15.
T’mar Byron led the Knights with 12 points. The Tigers kept an eye on Sam Morris, the leading scorer, as he only finished with two.
