- GIRLS BASKETBALL: Southeast Upsets Top-Ranked Fremont

Lincoln Southeast faced an eight-point deficit entering the final frame, but used a 9-0 run to regain the lead to upset the Fremont Tigers 61-53 Saturday afternoon.
The Knights (10-11) held the Tigers scoreless for nearly four minutes in the 4th quarter. McKenize Beach had six of her team-high 15 points during that span. With 3:09 remaining, Makada Beamon hit a jumper to give the Knights a 51-50 lead since the 4:20 mark of the first half.
Karsin Underwood nailed a three to extend the lead to 54-50 with 2:19 remaining. Fremont couldn’t find a stop or answer for the rest of the game and was forced to foul. The Knights used a 25 out of 30 performance from the free throw line to keep the Tigers at bay.
Fremont’s Rylee Cascio Jensen had four 3’s in the third quarter that gave the Tigers a 43-32 lead before the Tiger collapse. Cascio Jensen finished with 27.
In addition to Beach, Underwood tallied 14 points and Alex Barada finished with 11 for Southeast. The Knights outscored the Tigers 24-8 in the fourth quarter.
