McKenzie Beach missed the game-tying three from the top of the key as time expired Saturday afternoon as Lincoln Southeast fell to Millard North 42-39.
The Knights (7-8) trailed by 2 with 47 seconds left in the game. Makada Beamon fouled Taryn Benham on a missed shot and then was given a technical foul for language. Benham only converted two of the four foul shots.
Lincoln Southeast trailed 41-36 with less than 30 seconds left but McKenzie Beach made two free throws to cut the lead to 4 and Benham went 1 for 2. Karsin Underwood pulled the Knights within three after going 1 for two with 21.6 seconds left.
Millard North missed the next two free throws before surviving the game-tying shot on the last possession of the contest.
Lincoln Southeast was led by Karsin Underwood who finished with 9 points. Gabby Grasso led Millaard North with 14.
The Mustangs converted 19 of 37 free throws compared to the Mustang’s 10 of 14. Both teams combined for 41 fouls.
