- BOYS BASKETBALL: Costello's 29 Fuels Elkhorn South Past Waverly

WAVERLY---Justin Costello was in rhythm Friday night, as he made seven three pointers and finished with 29 points, as Elkhorn South rallied to defeat Waverly 66-59 at Waverly High School.
Costello scored 13 points in the fourth quarter to spark the Storm, including back to back three-pointers that put Elkhorn South ahead for good at 59-56 with 3:30 to play.
Jaron Bricker's three-pointer pulled Waverly to within one, 60-59 with two minute left, but Elkhorn South nailed six free throws to seal the win.
The Storm (8-6) trailed 22-11 with 4 minutes remaining the first half before cutting the Viking lead to 7 after a buzzer-beating three from Costello.
Waverly (6-8) jumped out to an 11-2 lead from back-to-back three pointer from Austin Wubbels who finished with 19 points. Bricker and Jacob Schneider scored 11 and 10 respectively in the contest.
Both teams combined for 17 three pointers but the Vikings didn’t have an answer in the final period as they were outscored 20-13.
