- CLASS A PLAYOFFS: Millard West Bombards Northeast

OMAHA---Millard West's high-powered offense overcame an early, slow start to roll to a 62-14 victory over Lincoln Northeast in the first round of the Class A Football playoffs Friday night at Buell Stadium.
The Wildcats (10-0) sprinted out to a 21-0 second quarter lead when Logan Anderjaska found Shea Wyatt on a 35-yard touchdown pass. Northeast (4-6) countered with a quick scoring strike, when quarterback Trevor Petersen found receiver Alonga Chol for 57-yard touchdown pass.
Millard West extended their lead to 35-7 at the half, but Northeast scored on their first possession of the third quarter. Petersen found Caden Highsmith on a 47-yard pass to the Wildcat 1-yard line, which set up Tivon Phillips' 1-yard scoring run.
From there, Millard West rattled off 27 unanswered points to earn the win. The Wildcats had 399 yards rushing, led by Anderjaska's 172 yards while he threw for 90 yards.
