WAVERLY---A win at longtime rival Waverly is the confidence boost Norris needed on Friday night.

The Titans struck early and allowed the Vikings to get back into the game just before halftime.  But Norris' defense prevailed and held off Waverly for a 16-13 victory at Viking Stadium.

With less than five minutes remaining in the game, Waverly mounted a drive from their own 23-yard line by running the ball.  Running back Justin Lawrence found creases through the Norris defensive line and was able to work the ball all the way to the Titan 18-yard line.

The Vikings found themselves on a 4th down and 4 from the Titan 18-yard line went for it.  Quarterback Dillon Ruelas' pass to receiver Isaiah Brown went incomplete with 1:58 left and Norris took over on downs.

Norris put the game away after gaining a crucial first down with 50 seconds left and ran out the rest of the clock to secure their first win.

Norris got out to an early 2-0 lead by forcing a safety, then got the ball on the ensuing kick which set up a short 26-yard drive.  The Titans drive was capped off on a 10-yard touchdown run from Austin Schultz and a two-point conversion for a 10-0 first quarter lead.

Norris' second touchdown came with 4:56 in the second quarter on a 4th and 3 through a 16-yard touchdown pass from Grant Morrison to Bryce Stai.

Waverly then responded with a quick 86-yard scoring strike on the first place from scrimmage with Ben Warner's reception.  The second Viking scoring drive went 73-yards and ended on a 14-yard touchdown pass to Greyson Skrobecki that pulled them to within three just before halftime.
