- BOYS BASKETBALL: Southeast Seniors Earn Final Home Win Over Fremont
By Jeff Motz
On a night when three seniors were being recognized and two former star athletes had their college jerseys framed up on the walls outside the Prasch Activities Center, Lincoln Southeast managed to end their final home game of the basketball season on a positive note.
The Knights got 14 points from Trevor Dockum and 13 from Jace Anderson to earn a 59-52 victory Saturday night.
Anderson, one of three seniors honored, also grabbed a game-high nine rebounds.
Southeast (6-17) found themselves down 18-12 in the first quarter, before regaining control for a 30-28 halftime lead. That didn't last long for the Knights, as Fremont kept it close and scored five straight points to take a 40-39 third quarter lead.
An 8-0 Southeast run sparked turned the tide of the momentum in the fourth quarter. On one play, Dockum, at 5-8, went up for a one-hand dunk that was contested and dropped through the hoop. He ended up getting a three-point play.
Fremont (10-13) would get as close as three down the stretch, 47-44, before Southeast settled on free-throw shooting late, including two straight from Brady McDonald to seal the win.
Only three Tigers were in double-figures, Matt Hahn and Hunter Horracks each with 13 points and Ryan Williams with 11.
