By Jeff Motz
It seems that Jason Towery is making a habit of scoring and rebounding in double figures.
The 6-6 Lincoln High senior center had 21 points and 18 rebounds in a 63-53 Links victory over Lincoln Northeast on Wednesday afternoon in the Heartland Athletic Conference boys basketball championship.
Towery's performance, along with senior forward Jamie Davis' 13 points and senior reserve Jaden Jilg-Brown's 11 helped in a balanced Lincoln High attack.
Jilg-Brown's points all came in the first half, when Lincoln High took a 28-27 halftime lead.
In the second half, the Links took charge midway through the third quarter. Northeast had a 34-31 lead and later led 36-35 when Lincoln High sprinted out to an 11-0 run that lasted into the first minute of the fourth quarter.

Northeast (7-2) had opportunities at the the free throw line to keep the margin close, but managed to shoot 22-of-37 free throws in the game. Lincoln High hit 14 free throws in the final half.
