- BOYS BASKETBALL: Bardsley's Free Throws Help Beatrice Stop Waverly Comeback

WAVERLY---Trey Bardsley's free throw shooting kept Beatrice from losing control Saturday night.
The 5-9 senior guard hit all 16 of his free throws and scored 26 points to lead the Class B No. 1 Orangemen to a 53-46 victory over Waverly.
Bardsley sank 12 free throws in the fourth quarter that held off a Viking comeback late in the game. Waverly went on a 13-3 run and narrowed the game to 45-41 off of two Erik Evans free throws with 1:02 left.
Bardsley hit six free throws and Zach Decker scored on a break away layup to seal the Beatrice win.
Bardsley scored 18 of his points in the second half. Nigel Stephenson led Waverly with 15 points and Evans added 14 in the loss. Tandon Dorn finished with 11 points to help Beatrice.
