Yes, we're still here. We haven't left the Internet. We've been taking it easy for the last three weeks. Something that we've needed for quite some time. But we're back at it beginning this week.
Lincoln Prep Sports.com's coverage of High School Baseball begins Tuesday as Lincoln Northeast travels to Elkhorn for an afternoon doubleheader. Then Friday, we begin our originating coverage of baseball with Lincoln Southeast and Lincoln North Star in a doubleheader at Sherman Field. Yes, hard to believe we're heading back to the ball field.
I apologize for the lack of baseball info for the season, but as the week progresses, we'll have that posted for you to follow up on each of the capital city teams.
State Basketball A SMASH HIT
Maybe we need to thank Mother Nature for this, but the opening day of the Girls State Basketball Tournament proved to be an all time record day for hits on the website. A total of 17,556 hits were reported on March 1st, followed by 10,234 on March 2nd and 5,277 for championship Saturday March 3rd. That's quite a milestone for this website and very pleasing for our fine sponsors to know, as well.
What puzzles me, is the week of the Boys State Basketball Tournament. No Lincoln area teams competing in any of the classes and still a record turn out on LPS. For Thursday, 16,466 hits on the site and this is with no Lincoln teams. Amazing, huh? Yep, I thought the same thing. On Friday, 10,470 hits and Saturday 5,784 hits were recorded. THANK YOU TO ALL OF YOU WHO VISIT US AND HAVE BOOKMARKED US AS A SOURCE OF HIGH SCHOOL SPORTS INFORMATION.
Baseball season should be fun this year. The quest will be to have at least one or two Lincoln teams playing in the State Baseball Tournament in the second of a two-year stint here in Lincoln. It would seem funny that no Lincoln teams played in the tournament in the two years it was here. Make sure you bookmark us all season and into the summer time for all the Lincoln area baseball action. Good luck to all of our teams and hope to see you in post-season action.
