In back-to-back games, Lincoln Southeast's 6-11 center Matt Hill recorded another double-double performance, as the Knights fend off top ten rated Omaha Bryan Saturday night 61-53 to win the Lincoln High Invitational at Earl Johnson Gym. Hill's 23 points and 18 rebounds proved to be pivotal for Southeast throughout the ball game, as he dominated the inside game against Bryan's 6-7 Matt Starks and 6-8 Dijon Smith. Southeast took off on a 10-0 run and built a 20-11 lead in the first half. Bryan would comeback in the second half behind a defensive effort, but nothing that posed as a big threat for Southeast. Alek Blankenau scored 13 points and Brian Hansen added 11 points in the Southeast win. Avery Tyler scored 16 points, while Barry Cunningham finished with 14 and Smith finished with a double-double of 10 points and 14 rebounds for the 16-3 Bears. The Knights (15-2) is likely to be ranked as the new No. 1 team in Class A, after Lincoln Northeast suffered their first loss of the year to Lincoln Southwest on Thursday night.
