- CLASS A GIRLS BASKETBALL: Kelle, Silver Hawks Soar Past Millard West

A strong second half of shooting proved to be the difference for Hannah Kelle and her Lincoln Southwest teammates.
The Silver Hawks were of 11-of-17 from the field and rallied from a two-point halftime deficit to beat Millard West 59-51 in the quarterfinals of the Class A girls state basketball tournament at Pinnacle Bank Arena on Thursday afternoon.
Southwest (21-5) will meet top-seed Lincoln Northeast in the Friday 7pm Class A semifinal game.
Kelle scored 19 of her game-high 20 points in the second half, 11 coming in the final period to help Southwest in the win.
Millard West (17-8) led 43-42 with 6:26 remaining when Honnah Leo hit a three-pointer. Then Southwest sprinted out to a 10-0 spurt for a 52-43 advantage, including a pair of threes from Kelle and senior guard Alex Barada.
The Silver Hawks then led 56-45 with 1:54 remaining, ultimately sealing the victory. Barada added 16 points in the win, while Jaden Ferguson finished with 14 for Southwest.
Chaise Pfanstiel scored 16 points to lead Millard West, who shot 7-of-24 from the field in the second half.
