- BOYS BASKETBALL: Lincoln Christian Sprints Past Fairbury
By Jeff Motz
Lincoln Christian's uptempo basketball took off early and they never looked back.
The Crusader boys jumped out to a 12-3 first quarter lead and pulled away for a 56-22 victory Friday night in boys basketball at the Christian Gym.
Christian's fast-paced offense also fed off of Fairbury's turnovers. The Jeffs only field goal in the first quarter came from a three-pointer from Connor Livingston, who led all scorers in the game with 16 points for Fairbury.
The Crusaders outscored the Jeffs 20-6 in the second quarter for a 32-9 halftime lead behind Dylan Chicoine, who had 10 of his 12 points in the first half.
Fairbury tried to counter in the second half, picking up momentum but not enough to keep up with Christian.
Dalton McGerr led the Crusaders with 13 points, including three three-pointers. Reserve forward Josh Buresh added nine points in the victory.
