- BOYS BASKETBALL: Southeast Seniors Curtain Call Ends In Victory Over Norfolk
By Jeff Motz
Aaron Walker and Jake Nannen made the most of their final home game at Lincoln Southeast.
The seniors combined to score 32 points and helped the Knights to a 59-44 victory over Norfolk Saturday night at the Prasch Activities Center.
Walker, who had four three-pointers in the game, scored 14 of his 16 points in the first half. His first three came with 3:07 left in the first quarter for a 5-2 lead. A minute later, Walker hit another three that gave Southeast an 8-5 lead.
The Knights (14-8) began a 9-0 run, sparked by NaJee Jackson's three-pointer with 6:24 left in the half for a 15-11 Southeast lead. Walker followed that up with back-to-back three-pointers and a basket from inside to give the Knights a 23-11 lead 3:55 with left before halftme.
Norfolk was in a spell for much of the half, until Blaine Dohlk made a basket with 1:25 remaining. Southeast led Norfolk 32-16 at the half.
While Walker was kept quiet in the second half, Nannen made up for it the rest of the way. Ten of Nannen's 16 points came in the fourth quarter alone, most of which were layups or scoring off missed shops.
Norfolk (11-12) was led by Brandon Villapando with 11 points and Taylor Reedy added 10 points in the loss.
