Lincoln----Lincoln Southwest needed a big fourth quarter boost to hold off a Bellevue West comeback.

Enter Jake Marvin.

The 6-8 senior center scored seven of his 13 points in the final quarter to help No. 1 Southwest to a 65-56 win over Bellevue West at The Nest Saturday night.  Marvin's performance helped Southwest to their 14th win in a row and improved to their record to 18-2.

After being in foul trouble early, Marvin turned things around in the fourth quarter.

Southwest had a 61-51 lead with 2:00 left as Bellevue West started to chip away at the Silver Hawk lead.  After a foul committed by Southwest's Garrett Nitz, Des Roberts hit three free-throws  to trim the deficit to seven and Tyler Seals followed up it with a three-pointer, trailing 61-56.  Marvin connected on a three point play to boost the Silver Hawk lead at 64-56.

Rylan Cotton hit a free-throw to seal the win for the Silver Hawks.

Early on, Bellevue West came out strong against Southwest.  The Thunderbirds got out to a 4-0 start off of baskets from forward Lawrence Kelley.  Kyle Headley sparked the Southwest offense scoring the first four Silver Hawk points of the game.

Greg Hardin hit a three as time ran out in the first quarter to give the Thunderbirds a 13-11 lead, the last time they would lead Southwest in the entire game.

Southwest rallied on a 8-0 run behind an Ethan Tompkins three, a three-point play from Devin Douglas-Wiley and a basket from Headley in the first couple of minutes of the 2nd quarter to take a 19-13 lead.

Douglas-Wiley led Southwest with 14 points and Headley finished with 10 points in the win.

Roberts led 11-7 Bellevue West with 19 points before fouling out.
