Lincoln---Lincoln Northeast faced adversity throughout the game, as the lead changes were flipped like the stock market these days.  #10 Lincoln Northeast (9-3) held on at the end with free throws and a late hustle play, to win 55-50 over the Links.
Lincoln High (5-6) controlled the first quarter and led 13-10 after one quarter of play.  Three pointers from Pete Uhing and R.J. Richardson led the spark for the Links in the 1st quarter.
In the 2nd quarter,  the Rocket's took a 21-17 lead with 1:30 left til the half.  Kutey had three fouls in the first minutes of the 2nd quarter, so he had to retreat to the bench for the remainder of the 1st half.  But Lincoln High with 1:30 left, went on a 6-0 run to take a 23-21 lead at halftime.
The 3rd quarter was still the same ol' story with both squads struggling from the field.  But credit the defensive schemes from Coach Bartek and Coach Uhing.  Both defenses caused double-digit turnovers from both sides in the game.  Northeast managed to get a three pointer from Jordan Brown to get some momentum.  Also, three key blocks from Sunday Wur in the paint gave the Rocket's a boost and a lead, 33-30 after three quarters of play.
The 4th quarter was a whole different story in the scoring department.  It was back and forth and Lincoln Northeast took a 42-37 lead with 6 minutes left, but then Lincoln High stormed back to regain the lead at 43-42 after Tobin Reinwald's three pointer from the right wing.  Lincoln Northeast later finished down the stretch by hitting 8 of 10 free throws to seal the deal.  At the end, Lincoln Northeast had one of the best hustle plays of the season
The Rocket's up 53-50, Lincoln High inbounded from their baseline and the ball was thrown to the halfcourt line with just 13 seconds left.  Trever Vidlak came across and just before going out of bounds, he tossed the ball back in play.  Then, Dol Kutey went and ran the ball down toward the Lincoln Northeast bench.  Once the ball left Kutey's hands, Tommy Johnson saved the day by getting possession and drawing the foul with just 2.8 seconds left in the game.  Then, Johnson hit two free throws to end it for the Rocket's.
Lincoln High was led by Reinwald with 15 points, Richardson with 13 points, and Flynn ended with 10 points.  Lincoln Northeast was led by Kutey with 14 points, Brown with 12 points, and Johnson with 10 Points.  Lincoln Northeast has Elkhorn at home Saturday night.  Lincoln High goes on the road Saturday night to Millard West.
