12/30/2008 - Baylor Test Prep Boys & Girls Basketball Summaries



Reece Schwartz led the Spartans with 29 points on 12 of 17 shooting from the field and helped East dodge a late surge from the Links.  Michael Partee's final shot from the lane before time ran out rimmed off.  Pete Uhing led Lincoln High with 18 points and hit 5 three-pointers in the game.

LINCOLN SOUTHWEST 68, LINCOLN SOUTHEAST 63:  The Silver Hawks avenged an earlier loss to the Knights, as Garrett Nitz scored 23 points and went 5 of 6 from the field.  Taylor Price finished with a game high 28 points, 15 of those coming in the 4th quarter.  Southwest and East play for the HAC championship Wednesday at 3:15pm.

LINCOLN NORTHEAST 52, FREMONT 47: Tommy Johnson scored 20 to pace the Rockets (4-3) in the consolation bracket. Dol Kutey added 11 for the winners.

GRAND ISLAND 63, LINCOLN NORTH STAR 38: The Islanders (4-4) opened the game with a 17-2 run, then used a 25-4 burst to start the second half. Sam Carstens led three Islanders in double-figures with 19 points.

WAVERLY 52, NORRIS 35: Tyler Evans scored 14 and Taylor Janssen added 11, but it was a strong defensive effort that keyed Waverly in the finals of the Waverly Holiday Tournament. The Vikings built a 34-9 halftime lead.  

LINCOLN CHRISTIAN 51, EAST BUTLER 40: After suffering their first loss of the season Monday, the Crusaders bounced back before 13 points from Jacob Gipson and 10 from Josiah Pool to win the third-place game at the Wahoo tournament. East Butler’s Ryley Cidlik led all scorers with 18.

STERLING 65, COLLEGE VIEW 32: Jake Saathoff scored 13 as the Jets won the championship game of the Parkview Christian Holiday Tournament.


LINCOLN SOUTHEAST 45, GRAND ISLAND 28:  Forced turnovers in the 2nd quarter sparked a 10-1 Southeast run and a 26-17 halftime lead.  KK Houser scored 15 of her 22 points in the first half.

LINCOLN EAST 69, LINCOLN SOUTHWEST 31:  East started the game on a 13-2 run and forced nine Southwest first-quarter turnovers. East entered halftime with a 38-16 lead and continued to build its lead in the second half.  Junior Catherine Dahl led the Spartans with 20 points and hit four three-pointers. Senior Kelsey Newman added 16.

LINCOLN NORTHEAST 64, LINCOLN HIGH 23: The Rockets hit nine three-pointers in a Heartland Conference consolation game. Emma Johnson led Northeast with 18 points while Brianna Craig added 13.

LINCOLN NORTH STAR 45, FREMONT 38: Lincoln North Star’s Emily Weber had 17 points and Siteena Ebrahim added eight in the Heartland Conference consolation round.

LINCOLN CHRISTIAN 58, EAST BUTLER 37: Morgan Dority scored 26 as the Crusaders won the third-place game at the Wahoo Holiday Tournament. 

WAVERLY 54, NORRIS 49: Waverly’s Morgan Heggert and Anne Martin combined for 32 of the Vikings’ 54 total points as each player chipped in 16 points. The host team edged the Titans for the tournament title.
