The Bison Blue avenged a loss in the cross-pool play by defeating the team from Hammond, IN. 75-67 in the first round of tournament play. Quentin Urban led the team with 19 pts. as he shot 4 for 5 from beyond the 3 pt. range. Galen Gullie added 13 pts. and both Reath Jiech and DK Augustine pulled down 5 rebounds each.

In the Semi-Finals the Bison Blue from the Omaha Metro area dominated one of the best 15U teams from Indiana, the Indiana Elite. DK Augustine controlled the middle by leading the Bison with 20 pts. and 5 rebounds. Reath Jiech had 5 rebounds and 3 block shots while Galen Gullie and Cole Spurgeon scored 18 and 14 pts. to help lead the team from Omaha in to the Championship game.

The Bison Blue won the 15 and Under division of the NCAA Certified Hoosier Showcase National Tournament in a over-time thriller over the South Bend, IN Lakers 76 to 72. DK Augustine led the way with 21 pts and 10 rebounds as Reath Jiech also has a double-duoble with 14 pts. and 14 rebounds. Galen Gullie contributed 14 pts. while Adonis Hill had 5 assits. The Lakers hit a 3 pts. shot at the buzzer to take the game to over-time but the Bison went on a 6-0 run to win their first National title of their 5 year existence in tyhe Nebraska Bison program.

The top ranked 15U team in Indiana scored at the buzzer to defeat the Bison Blue in the first game of pool play for both teams. The Blue played from behind most of the game and trailed by as much as 10 pts. mid way in the first half. But battled back to take the lead in the second half. Watched by as least 6 college coaches this game with well worth their time. Reath Jiech led the Bison with 15 pts. while DK Augustine had another double-double with 14pts. and 12 rebounds. Also in double figures for the team out of Omaha, NE was Quentin Urban who had 10 pts.

The Bison Blue took control of the game early and never looked back cruising to a 64-44 win of the Carolina Drive from North Carolina. Reath Jiech led the way with 15 pts. followed by Quentin Urban who had 14. Alec Smith had 5 pts. and a team high 6 rebounds while Galen Gullie and Derek Hord came up with 2 steals each. The Blue evened their poll play record to 1-1.

The Bison Blue won yet another over-time game during their east and south summer NCAA certified basketball swing. This time the victory came over the Elite from Grand Rapids, Michigan 71-65. The Bison trailed by 6 points with two minutes to play in regulation but took the lead on a 3 point play by Reath Jiech with 20 seconds left. The Blue once again took control of the over-time period and went on to win their second pool play game of the Hoopfest. Jiech recorded another double-double with 21 pts. and 10 rebounds while DK Augustine had 20 pts. and 7 rebounds. Jacob Brown had a great defensive game with a team high 6 steals.

 

Tournament Play Silver Division

 

Bison Blue (10-5)................65

Alegent Health Crusaders....79

 

The Bison Blue played the Omaha Crusaders in the first round of the Sliver Tournament. The Crusaders jumped out to an early 12 point lead  and led by as many as 20 to eliminate the Blue from the Tournament. The Blue had three players in double figures with Reath Jiech leading the way with 17 pts. while DK Augustine had 15 pts. and Quentin Urban finished with 11. The Bison Blue left Kentucky with a 2-2 record and will now complete their summer in Kansas City, KS by playing in the KC Power-Ade event starting July 28th.
