07/09/2008 - Heritage Builders Remodeling Bison Nebraska Basketball Scoreboard

Bison-Nebraska Red (10-2)..............37*48-85<

Spiece Indy Heat............................45*41-86<

B-N Red-Steville Burns (Omaha Benson) 2, Taylor Price (Lincoln SE) 5, Trent Miller (Gretna) 2, Dane Bacon (Kearney) 14, Dwight Smith (Ralston) 8, Pete Uhing (Lincoln High) 15, Drew Sankey (Lincoln East) 9, Greg Smith (Ralston) 25, Kyle Iske (Millard West) 5.<

Highlights: Before an estimated crowd of about 100 college coaches, Bison Red rallied from an 18-point deficit with 9:03 left in the game, but came up just short of defeating an Indiana team that reached the semifinals of the Hoosier Shootout and is considered one of the top teams in the Kentucky Hoopfest with four or five Division I players. Greg Smith scored a team-high 25 points, but it was Pete Uhing's shooting and Trent Miller's steals that keyed a 11-0 second-half run that got Bison Red back into the game. Taylor Price's 3-pointer with 1:58 left in the game gave Bison Red a 77-74 lead, but Spiece answered with a 3 then built the lead to four on a pair of free throws with six seconds left. A 3-pointer by Dane Bacon at the buzzer produced the final score. Miller, who has led the team in steals this summer, had seven against Spiece. Uhing was 5-for-9 from 3-point range to finish with 15 points. Bacon added 14 points.
