The Bison-Nebraska Red boys basketball team opened up their summer tourney schedule with an 89-72 win over Team Nebraska Thursday night in the Alegent Health Tournament at UNO's Sapp Fieldhouse.

Bison-Red had a 62-47 lead with 11 minutes to go in the game, but Team Nebraska cut the lead down to three with 5 minutes remaining.  But Bison-Red bounced back and went on a 14-0 run to seal the win.

Ralston's Greg Smith led the Bison Red with 18 points, while Lincoln East's Drew Sankey chipped in 12 points. Omaha Benson's Steville Burns had 16 points for the Red.

The Bison Red made 26 of 48 shots from the field for 54% and outrebounded Team Nebraska 35-27, led by Smith, Millard West's Kyle Iske and Lincoln High's Pete Uhing with six rebounds a piece.

Uhing also scored 8 points in the game, while Lincoln Southeast's Taylor Price had 5 points and Lincoln Southwest's Jake Marvin finished with 2 points.
